Bert Telder

My sincere thanks to Ken Anholt for passing on the sad news that Bert Telder passed away on September 4th 2016. Bert was a maintenance technician for the CBC in Edmonton.

Ken remembers Bert began employment with CBC radio in the old MacDonald hotel in 1961. He later transferred to CBXT and became a maintenance technician primarily servicing film cameras.  Then in the 70’s he came back to CBX as the maintenance supervisor of the radio studios. He was present and instrumental in the construction of the first automated Master Radio control room in CBC’s 75th street studios. This facility was completed just prior to the Commonwealth Games in 1978. Bert retired in 1991 after 30 years with the corporation.

So sad to hear of Bert’s passing, but also glad to have had the visit with Bert and Eppie before the summer. It was great to revisit the years of working together. Our thoughts are with Eppie and Family at this time.

Very sorry to hear about Bert’s passing.
Abused and cranky and creaky film cameras came back to life under his meticulous care.
He was an true artist and a beautiful guy.
