Obituary
ELTON, John Dalton (“Dalt”) A First Class Regular Guy February, 27 1920 – November 6, 2007 How do you sum up a life of 87 years in words? Impossible, and yet that is what we do when a loved one passes. Of the thousands of words that can be used to describe Dalton Elton here are a few that will no doubt fall short of the description of his truly wonderful life. Irene, the boys, family, faith, a good song, a great joke, a smile and a nod, a pat on the back and a kind word, a memorized poem and profound thought and a kiss, tennis, football, the TV remote, good food, good friends and a chocolate shake, always singing the national anthem out loud, even if he was the only one singing, laughing louder, leading the singing, sleeping behind the piano! A good story, a great punch line, a prayer and a blessing, a family reunion, frequent praise, never gossiping and leaving the room when others were, a hot tub choir, leaving the game early to beat the traffic, the kuni brans, The Music Man, family and Irene, Irene and Irene. John Dalton Elton was a loving husband, a great father and friend, a singer of rare quality and true gentle man. He is no doubt singing with the heavenly choir and poking the man next to him! Dalt is survived by Irene Tanner Elton, the love of his life for over 65 years, five sons, five daughters-in-law, 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and thousands of dear friends in this life and the next. He will be missed and loved forever. Dalt’s life will be celebrated December 1st, 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), 941 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver, British Columbia.
