Born Robert William Coe, Bob’s introduction to broadcasting was in San Diego State University, where he obtained a BSc. degree in Radio, Television and Film Production. While engaged in his studies he also worked full time at Channel 39-TV.

From that auspicious beginning, Bob has been there, done that, in many locales. He’s worked, mainly in news departments, at KMPC Radio in Los Angeles, at CKUA radio in Edmonton, as city beat reporter at the Vancouver Sun newspaper, at CKWX Vancouver, at the Calgary Herald, at CFCN Radio in Calgary, CHED Radio Edmonton, CFRN-TV, Edmonton, News Director and Anchor at CKSA Radio and TV in Lloydminster, and as DJ at CHQT Edmonton, CJVI in Victoria, CFOR in Orillia, Ontario — not necessarily in that order.

Bob is particularly proud of the 210 half-hour television programs he wrote, produced and directed titled 4-H Clubtime, which aired throughout rural Alberta. Also, in 1974, he produced and directed To Serve Our City, which won a first place award at the inaugural Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association Film Festival in Edmonton, and went on to win first place nationally.
