Born March 29, 1949. Died at age 51. Friends and family who knew John will be saddened to hear of his death following a lengthy battle with leukemia. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan Ricci of St. Petersburg, Florida; his daughters, Heather and Stephanie of St. Albert; his parents, Jack and Glenys Bauman of St. Albert; his three brothers, Richard of Edmonton, Roger (Cara Melbye) of Toronto, and Brent of St. Albert; the mother of his children, Maureen Barnes of St. Albert; as well as a host of relatives and friends. For 10 years until December, 1998, John was employed by Northwestern Utilities in communications and strategic planning. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Allen Ausford; doctors, nurses and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, and at the Dr. T.D. Baker Centre in Calgary; and all of John’s friends for their support during his illness.
