It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Doug Fraser of Calgary, Alberta at 68 years of age. He left us gently and peacefully surrounded by his family on March 12, 2019 at the Rockyview General Hospital.

Beloved to many, he leaves to mourn his wife Lynne; daughter Dawn; son Brad (Corinne); step sons Eric (Kelly) and Rand Jensen; sister, Wendy (Angelo) Belcastro; brother Brian (Lorraine) Fraser; brother Keith (Jeanne) Fraser, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be lovingly remembered by a number of special and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents Ken and Norrie Fraser.

As a journalist, Doug’s career took him from radio host to news anchor, host of a morning show, to Communication Director of the Calgary Regional Health Authority and to most recently and proudly the Calgary Stampede. Doug was also passionately involved with Crime Stoppers for many years where he held a position of President and a Board Member. He loved music, playing the guitar, cooking, golf and his Edmonton Eskimo’s and Oilers.

At this time the family has chosen to celebrate Doug’s life privately however we are so very grateful for all of your messages, prayers, well wishes and we encourage you all to raise a glass in honour of Doug.

We’d like to send out a special heartfelt thank you to the ICU medical team at Rockyview Hospital for their extraordinary care of Doug and their compassion shown to him and our family.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Doug by making a donation to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
