KOSTIW, Korinda Carolyn

The family of Korinda Carolyn Kostiw of Ardrossan, Alberta is saddened to announce her passing on September 18, 2020 at the age of 34 years. She was surrounded by family. Korinda was born on January 18, 1986 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Korinda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dustin Kostiw; son, Austin Kostiw. Her parents, Todd and Annette Tetz; brother, Sid and Elena Tetz ( Nikolai / Sidney); grandparents Warren and Carol Tetz, and Nellie Braaksma; Father and Mother In-Law Edward and Colleen Kostiw; sister in-law Tracy and Scott Pollock (Ryder and Declan); sister-in-law Shelley and Vince Edwards (Ethan, Seth and Grace); sister-in-law Ashley and Morgan Penner.

She was predeceased by her great-uncle Ton Van Orizande, grandfather Sid Braaksma, and Cousin Saxon Jenkinson.

Korinda was raised in Sherwood Park, AB. She graduated from Salisbury Composite High School with honors and received her Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University with an English major. Korinda was passionate about communications and media. She specialized in this field as a Digital Account Manager with Bell. In addition to her corporate role she was also a driven entrepreneur. She founded Blue Tongue Photobooth. Most important to Korinda was being a dedicated Mother and Wife. She treasured Dustin and Austin and embraced every moment they spent together. Her adventurous spirit carried her around the world. Korinda was a formidable, beautiful, and vivacious woman with a zest and passion for life. Her strength and faith were an unparalleled example to all, and she led with the kindest and most generous heart.
Korinda’s hobbies and interests were Chicks with Checks, prayer group, reading, jogging, snowboarding, snorkeling, cooking, wakeboarding, softball, gardening, dancing, the lake, event planning and family get-togethers.

Prayer service will be on October 1 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Sherwood Park, from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on October 2 at Heartland Alliance Church Sherwood Park, at 2 p.m. Due to AHS restrictions, the memorial service will be by invite only. A Live Stream will be available. The family is sincerely grateful to the staff at the Cross Cancer, Optimum Wellness, Sherwood Park Hospital, Grey Nuns and Dr. Castillo’s Clinic in Tijuana, Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations are being accepted for Santa’s Anonymous. Toys will be accepted at the prayer service and memorial service. www.santasanonymous.ca Please leave condolences at www.glenwoodmemorial.com

Korinda was a beautiful soul much loved and respected in the industry. She was the digital account manager at Bell and also spent a good while at Corus here in town. – Marty Forbes
