James Robertson

ROBERTSON, (JR) James – On September 12, 2011, at the age of 63, Jim (JR) passes away peacefully with his family and best friend by his side.

Jim fondly remembered as “Scouter Jim” dedicated over 45 years of his life to mentoring youth through the Scouting movement. Jim was an active member of the Edmonton Scottish Society as well as the Clan Donnachaidh Society. Jim was employed at CBC in Edmonton as a transmitter technician when he chose early retirement at age 48. His retirement years were filled with many adventures travelling the world.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his sister Dianne (Mark) Radetzky, nephew Robert Radetzky, nieces Amanda and Camille Radetzky, Lisa Anderson (Kirby) and their family, and best friend Jim (Paddy) Austin; as well as numerous friends and relatives from the Netherlands, Scotland, and Australia.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Theadora and James Robertson.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, September 18, 2011 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park where a celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm.

Interment and a reception will follow at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens.

Donations in memory of Jim may be made to Scouts Canada or to the Cross Cancer Institute Edmonton.
