SHEPANSKY, Jim
November 29, 1938 – March 2, 2019

One of the “Good Guys” is gone.

Jim Shepansky passed away peacefully at his home in Edmonton on Saturday, March 2, 2019. He’s leaving behind family and friends that he loved dearly and he knows loved him back. Jim will be missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife, Jean; his sons, Dan, Tom, Bill and their partners, Janie, Roxanne and Monica. Jim was a wonderful Grandpa and will also be missed by a great group of grandkids, Claire, Jacob, Nolan, Julia, Isabella and Eva. Jim also leaves behind his three sisters, Josephine Labonte, Patricia Starchuk and Maryanne Mears; two brothers, Bob (Sharon) and Richard Shepansky; as well as his friend and brother-in-law, Thor Solberg. Jim had a wonderful life including his career in radio, his time on the family farm in Two Hills, golfing with friends at The Highlands and cooking then sharing a meal with those he loved. Jim, we know you’re smiling down on us and you will be truly missed. Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 111 Avenue. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made directly to the Highlands United Church, 11305 64 Street, Edmonton, AB T5W 4H6 or to a charity of one’s choice.
