Sim Simoni

Obituary

SIMONI, Giuseppe “Sim”
January 7, 1928 – January 22, 2016

It is with much love and deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Sim on January 22, 2016 at the age of 88.

Sim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret of 58 years; son, Gianni; daughters: Sandra and Sue (Brian); granddaughters: Brianne and Lauren Fellows; as well as extended family, friends and former work colleagues at the CBC.

Sim was predeceased by his loving parents: Eugenio and Elvira; sister, Maria Teresa; and his brother-in-law, Angelo Pace.

Sim joined the CBC in 1961 and spent many successful years working as a Unit Manager in Edmonton. Highlights of his career involved working on numerous productions including the CFL, Hockey Night in Canada, the World Curling Championship, Commonwealth Games and Par 27.

As per Sim’s wishes there will be no formal service held. May we invite you to put on some jazz music, open a bottle of red, preferably Italian and sit down to a plate of pasta in his memory. Saluti a tutti. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in Rome, Italy.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Sim’s name to a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of the Sturgeon Community Hospital in St. Albert. Your care and compassion will always be remembered.
