Don moved from Winnipeg in 1961 to be part of the start up team for the new Edmonton CBC location where he worked as a staging manager for years. He was also a member of I.A.T.S.E. local 210 with over 50 years of service. He was instrumental in attracting young talent to the union and many of his proteges have had successful careers in the movie and television business. Upon retirement, Don spent his time reading, cooking, and visiting with family and friends. He had a special relationship with his three amigos; Toffee, Dexter and Charlie. They spent countless hours together each and every day. We are grateful to the many family and friends who visited Don in his greatest time of need. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Cross Cancer who made Don comfortable during his short illness. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Boulevard, Sherwood Park, on Monday December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please enjoy lunch with family and friends or donate to the Edmonton Humane Society.
