Obituary
WESTPHAL, Sean Patrick
January 27, 1975 – June 24, 2017
With very heavy hearts we announce that Sean passed away from a sudden heart attack at the age of 42.
His unexpected death was a shock to everyone and we all agree that this beautiful soul was taken from us far too soon. Born in Langley British Columbia, he graduated from Holy Cross High School and then pursed a career in radio creative writing. He began his career in Cranbrook, then moved to Edmonton, Kelowna, Saskatoon, and then finally back to Edmonton where he was the Head Creative Writer for 95.7 Cruz/Hot 107 FM radio station.
An exceptionally kind and generous person, Sean was a great favorite among his coworkers. Wherever he went so many of his colleagues turned into lifelong friends. Outside of work he enjoyed a variety of activities including cooking, sports, and movies.
Sean was predeceased by his father Louis Patrick Westphal. He is deeply mourned by his mother Karen, sister Shannon (Jason), Karen’s partner Ken, his children Jennifer (Ian) and Jason (Angie), loyal companion Dizzy (dog), as well as wide circle of friends. Sean’s Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2017 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. in a private banquet room at the Moose Factory on Calgary Trail.
Donations in memory of Sean may be made to ARTS Senior Animal Rescue.
