Vic Wintoniak

Vic Wintoniak was one of the original film cameramen hired when CBXT opened in 1961. Vic worked at CFRN before joining CBC Edmonton when the station signed on. He later managed the CBC Edmonton film department before moving on to become a success in the insurance business.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of this very special beloved man.

Vic passed away on the evening of his 50th Wedding Anniversary, May 4, 2013, at the age of 75.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his devoted wife, Pat, his daughter Peggy Smith and husband Troy and his son David and wife Krista.

Also left to cherish his memory are his four adored grandchildren, Devin and Riley Smith and Matthew and Raeann Wintoniak, his sisters, Audrey Marusin and Irisann and Henry Turchanski, brother-in-law Doug Stuckey, nieces and nephews.

As per Vic’s request there will be no funeral service. The family invites friends to join them at a reception to honour his memory on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Derrick Golf & Winter Club, 3500 – 119 Street from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

If so desired, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.
