Dennis Woodrow

WOODROW, Dennis Lewis
July 27, 1934 – June 1, 2015

It is with great sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Dennis Lewis Woodrow on Monday, June 1, 2015.

Those who knew Dennis will remember him for his gentleness, kindness, keen intellect and great sense of humour. His ready smile and the twinkle in his eyes endeared him to so many. In the very best meaning of the phrase, he was one of a kind.

Dennis will be remembered as a long time CBC employee and the much loved host of CBC’s national request radio program, RSVP, dedicated to lovers of classical music.

Dennis leaves to mourn his loss his relatives in Canada and the Unites States, as well as many friends and former colleagues. He will especially be missed by his dear friend and advocate Patricia (Collin), and his dedicated caregivers: Jen, Leigh, Kim, Janet, Heather and Sammy.

Dennis was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean in 2013 and by his parents, Mary and Lewis.

A service of his “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later. Details will be published when plans are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Friends of CBC, Box 200/238, 131 Bloor St. West, Toronto, ON, M5S 1R8, or SAGE (Senior’s Associate of Greater Edmonton), 15 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB, T5J 2E5.
